Program at a Glance
Day 1: Mumbai
Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai for registration and check-in before boarding the Deccan Odyssey. A traditional welcome with refreshments and cultural performances sets the tone for the journey ahead. Settle into your cabin, explore the train’s elegant interiors, and enjoy dinner onboard as the train departs for Vadodara.
Day 2: Mumbai – Vadodara
Begin the day with an early breakfast onboard before transferring to Gaekwad Baroda Golf Club, Gujarat’s oldest private golf course, set within the grand Laxmi Vilas Palace Estate. Enjoy an 18-hole round surrounded by mature trees, heritage pavilions, and palace-side fairways. Return to the train for lunch before visiting the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. Later, enjoy high tea and folk performances at Laxmi Vilas Palace before dinner onboard as the train continues towards Udaipur.
Day 3: Udaipur
Arrive in Udaipur, the City of Lakes, and begin with a visit to the magnificent City Palace complex, followed by a serene boat ride across Lake Pichola. Enjoy lunch at a heritage city venue before setting out on a walking tour through the Old City, known for its puppets, textiles, jewellery, handicrafts, and atmospheric lanes. Return to the Deccan Odyssey in the evening for dinner onboard as the train departs for Jodhpur.
Day 4: Jodhpur
After breakfast onboard, transfer to Jodhpur Golf Club, housed within the historic Sardar Club in Ratanada. Enjoy an 18-hole round at this old-world parkland course, once associated with Marwar’s aristocracy and colonial-era sporting culture. Return to the train for lunch before exploring the Clock Tower market by tuk-tuk, passing havelis, old houses, and lively bazaar streets. Later, visit Mehrangarh Fort at golden hour, with sweeping views over the Blue City, before returning to the train for dinner and the onward journey to Jaipur.
Day 5: Jaipur
Arrive in Jaipur and transfer to Rambagh Golf Club, one of India’s most storied golf courses, located beside the historic Rambagh Palace. Enjoy an 18-hole round with views towards Moti Doongri and Nahargarh Forts. After lunch at a city hotel, pause for photographs at Hawa Mahal before continuing to Amer Fort. Explore its courtyards, mirrored halls, and lake-facing viewpoints, followed by time for shopping in Jaipur’s famed textile and gemstone markets. Return to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner as the train departs for Agra.
Day 6: Agra
Arrive in Agra for a morning dedicated to the Taj Mahal, one of India’s most iconic monuments and a timeless expression of Mughal artistry. After lunch at a city hotel, continue to the UNESCO-listed Agra Fort, visiting its audience halls, royal pavilions, and historic courtyards. Time permitting, explore local markets known for Pietra Dura craftsmanship and Mughal-inspired souvenirs. Return to the train in the evening for dinner onboard as the journey continues to Sawai Madhopur.
Day 7: Sawai Madhopur – Ranthambore
Begin with an early village visit and a quiet interaction with local families, offering a glimpse into life around Sawai Madhopur. Return to the train for an early lunch before setting out on an afternoon safari in Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s most celebrated tiger reserves. The experience brings together wilderness, rugged landscapes, and the possibility of spotting the Royal Bengal Tiger. Return to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner and your final overnight journey onboard towards Delhi.
Day 8: Delhi – Gurgaon
Arrive at Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station and enjoy breakfast onboard before bidding farewell to the Deccan Odyssey. Begin a half-day guided tour of Old Delhi, exploring the lanes of Chandni Chowk, the spice market, and the atmosphere around Jama Masjid. Enjoy lunch at Dharampura Haveli, a restored 19th-century mansion offering heritage-style dining in the heart of Old Delhi. Later, transfer privately to Gurgaon and check in at Trident, Gurgaon or The Oberoi, Gurgaon. The evening is at leisure.
Day 9: Gurgaon – Delhi Departure
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer privately to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi for your onward or international flight. Alternatively, extend your stay in Delhi, Gurgaon, or beyond, continuing the journey through India at leisure.
