Some excursions involve early starts and walking through forts, palaces, markets, and old city areas — comfortable footwear is essential.
Temperatures and climate may vary between destinations, especially between city, desert, and wildlife landscapes — light layers and versatile clothing are recommended.
The Ranthambore safari depends on park conditions and wildlife movement — sightings are not guaranteed.

Program at a Glance

Day 1: Delhi — Embarkation

Board the Deccan Odyssey in Delhi and complete the registration and check-in formalities with a traditional Indian welcome. Settle into your cabin as the train departs for Agra, followed by dinner onboard.

Day 2: Agra

Arrive in Agra and visit the iconic Taj Mahal, a timeless monument of love and one of India’s most celebrated landmarks. Continue to Agra Fort, admire its grand Mughal architecture, and witness the delicate art of marble inlay work before returning to the train for dinner.

Day 3: Sawai Madhopur / Ranthambore

Disembark at Sawai Madhopur for an early morning safari through Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s most renowned wildlife reserves. After the safari, return to the Deccan Odyssey for lunch as the train continues its journey towards Udaipur.

Day 4: Udaipur

Arrive in Udaipur, the City of Lakes, and begin with a visit to the magnificent City Palace and Crystal Gallery. Enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Pichola, followed by lunch at a city hotel and a walking tour through Udaipur’s old city and colourful bazaars.

Day 5: Jodhpur

Explore Jodhpur, the Blue City, beginning with the majestic Mehrangarh Fort. Later, walk through the lively Clock Tower Market, passing old havelis and traditional neighbourhoods before returning to the train for the onward journey.

Day 6: Jaisalmer

Arrive in Jaisalmer, set in the heart of the Thar Desert. Visit Jaisalmer Fort and Nathmal Ki Haveli, then return to the train for lunch before heading to the dunes for a memorable sundowner experience.

Day 7: Jaipur

Discover Jaipur, the Pink City, with a visit to the impressive Amer Fort. After lunch at a city hotel, continue to the City Palace and drive past the iconic Hawa Mahal before returning to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner onboard.

Day 8: Delhi — Disembarkation

Arrive at Delhi Safdarjung Station in the morning. Enjoy breakfast onboard, complete the disembarkation formalities, and bid farewell to the Deccan Odyssey as your royal journey through India comes to an end.
